Spina Fucotia is short and slightly plump, but her staff does a masterful job: Rubies sparkle in her hair, she wears flattering and beautiful dresses, and she is made up with skilfully applied cosmetics.  She is in her mid-50's.

The Fucotia family has been part of the Seven Captains council since the beginning of the Realm of Seven Ports.  Spina Fucotia was born into a wealthy family.  She caught the eye of her late husband, Lunus Fucotia, when she was a teenager.  He was in his late 30's and his first wife had died without producing an heir.  Spina produced five children, three of which are now adults, the other two died before reaching adulthood.

Lunus saw that his wife had business skills, her parents were progressive in that way, decided to bring her into the family business.  Over time she demonstrated to everyone in the family that she was both a shrewd and fair business person.  Her husband died two years ago and the family members elected her to take her husband's seat on the Seven Captain's council.
